TechSkills was built from experience, not theory.
In 2008, Biraj Bhadel founded Active IT, a Sydney-based managed IT services company. As the company grew, so did his experience hiring graduates. Again and again, he found capable people with recognised qualifications who lacked something harder to teach in a classroom: experience working with real clients, real systems and real teams.
So TechSkills was created with a simple belief: people learn IT best when they experience it for themselves.

Four things we have never compromised on.
These came from running an IT business, not from a marketing meeting. They are the reason TechSkills looks the way it does, in every campus.
Real IT, not theory
TechSkills is powered by Active IT, a working managed services business. What we teach is drawn from live environments, real tickets and real clients.
You learn by doing
Nobody becomes job ready by watching. Students build, break, fix and ship, in labs and workflows that look like the job.
We stay until you are hired
A course ends at the last class. Our job ends when you start yours. Resume, interviews and job search support are part of the promise.
One standard, everywhere
Sydney, Melbourne, Perth or Kathmandu: the same team, the same Australian work practices and the same expectation of every student.
Not a certificate. A first role, and a career that grows from it.
Everything we do is aimed at three moments in a student's life. If we get these right, the rest follows.
Day One ready
You walk into your first role already knowing the tools, the workflow and the way a team communicates. Nobody has to wait months for you to become useful.
- Hands-on labs and real environments
- Australian work practices from the start
The first job
The hardest step in any IT career is the first one. We stay with you through it: portfolio, resume, mock interviews and introductions to people who hire.
- Work you can show and explain
- Career coaching until you are hired
A career that keeps growing
Support technician to systems administrator. Analyst to engineer. We teach the habits that make the second and third roles possible, not just the first.
- Problem solving over memorising
- Communication employers notice

"Technical knowledge opens the door, but practical problem-solving and real-world communication are what build a lasting career."

The best way to understand TechSkills is to visit a campus, meet the people who teach here and ask us anything. No pitch, just an honest conversation about where you are and where you want to go.
